Spiritual Purity
Denying all fleshly lusts and living by the Spirit through wholehearted submission to God.
The Goal: Spiritual Purity
Without spiritual purity biblical, mental, verbal, physical, and sexual purity are all impossible. Without spiritual purity there is no freedom from sin, no reconciliation with God, no relationship with Jesus Christ or the Holy Spirit, and consequently no forgiveness, salvation or eternal life! This is why Spiritual Purity is essential and foremost in the quest for purity.
Spiritual purity is the state God intended for us all, but for a variety of reasons we all chose to rebel against God and His design for us and to live a life of sin. Those who are spiritual pure are the ones who recognize their sinfulness, renounce it wholeheartedly, turn to God in full submission, and surrender their lives to Jesus Christ. As a result they are no longer under the enslavement or condemnation of sin but are set free from the guilt of sin and spend the rest of their lives striving to overcome the power of sin by the power of Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit of God.
2 Corinthians 7:1 NASBS
Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
The Problem: Spiritual Impurity
Mankind was created by God, who is spirit (John 4:24), and in His likeness, which means that we are spirits that live in a body. The spirit is a person’s true self, and the part of the person that continues to exist after death. Where the spirit goes to spend eternity depends entirely on whether we are purified or not. Purified spirits return to God to spend eternity with Jesus Christ (Ecc 12:7); impure defiled spirits are condemned to destruction separated from God for eternity. The choice is entirely ours and is made by how we live our lives now: either in sinful rebellion against God or in full submission and obedience to God.
The Solution: Jesus Christ
The stakes couldn’t be higher. It is not God’s desire for anyone to perish (2 Pet 3:9). In His love and grace He has provided the solution in Jesus Christ, but it is up to us to accept the Solution. Too many people have convinced themselves they are spiritually pure, when they are not. Too many are convinced they are Christians, but are not. This is far too important to get wrong, and while there is still time to get this right it's imperative we do so and ASAP. I pray you understand this, make this your top priority, and continue through the entire purity process. I promise being purified through Jesus Christ is the best decision you’ll ever make.
Start the Purity Quest
The Purity Quest is a process where a person is purified by Jesus Christ and prepared to serve God, be faithfully obedient, abstain from all sinfulness, culminating in eternal life. "And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure." (1 John 3:3 NASB95)
